The arts in Fayetteville/Cumberland County are an integral part of this community. Arts organizations are actively involved in initiatives to facilitate downtown revitalization, contribute to the economic growth of our area, enhance education from pre-kindergarten to graduate school and promote the awareness of the arts as a necessity not a nicety for building, recruiting and retaining a creative workforce in our community.
Fayetteville/Cumberland County is home to artists of all disciplines and skill levels who engage our citizens in exploring and expressing their creativity in every walk of life. The arts not only represent diversity, but embrace the unique diversity of community through countless examples of collaboration, partnership and inclusivity.
Cumberland Community Foundation partners with local arts organizations to build support for excellent cultural and educational arts programming in our community. We often call on the expert knowledge of our local arts council, The Arts Council of Fayetteville / Cumberland County, which has received national awards for its impact on our community, making arts and cultural programs accessible to all. It is a nonprofit service agency that encourages all citizens to explore their creativity. It supports local artists of all disciplines and engages the community in arts-related activities. It enlivens the heart of the City and serves as a gathering place for the entire area. The Arts Council also functions as the anchor arts agency for a 15-county region of Southeast North Carolina.
