Lilly Endowment Challenge

This challenge has been awarded for 2009.  Please revisit this page in June 2010 for the next deadline and application.

Currently, the following organizations are recipients of the Lilly Endowment Challenge.  Contact the foundation if you would like to make a gift.  

• The Cape Fear Botanical Garden has been awarded $1:$1 matching funds up to $50,000 for gifts to the Cape Fear Botanical Garden Children’s Fund, which endows support for the garden’s programming for children.  The Lilly Endowment Challenge grant is made possible by the Ashton W. Lilly Fund for Philanthropy.
• The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra was awarded The Lilly Endowment Challenge in 2007.  Through December 2009, gifts to the Fayetteville Symphony Endowment will be matched $1:$1 up to $25,000 and will help secure the long-term future of quality symphonic music in our community.  This grant was made possible by the Ashton W. Lilly Fund for Philanthropy.
