An Invaluable Resource for Cumberland County and the surrounding area! Cumberland Community Foundation is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization that acts as a vehicle for facilitating personalized and endowed individual, family, and corporate philanthropy. Under CCF's umbrella tax-exempt status, donors may create "family endowments" through an array of fund options.
Extending from least restrictive (through field-of-interest or unrestricted funds) to most restrictive (through gifts specifying particular charities), the Foundation's fund options offer donors maximum flexibility and choice to implement their charitable plans. Of particular note is the fact that the "user-friendly" and cost-effective environment of a community foundation offers donors a highly attractive alternative to creating a private foundation. CCF
can be an integral part of one's estate planning. By providing tax
benefits and long term family involvement, it is the perfect means
for sheltering wealth accumulated during one's lifetime, for community
benefit, as well as for transmitting philanthropic values across
family generations. Cumberland Community Foundation is a partnership of donors, non-profit organizations, and the community working together to find solutions to pressing community needs. Today, it manages more than 400 different donor funds, started by people from all walks of life, and the endowments of many area nonprofit organizations. Many philanthropists have chosen Cumberland Community Foundation as their charitable giving partner and created endowment funds to benefit programs that are important to them and our communities. Each year, these endowment funds provide the investment income for grants to hundreds of nonprofit organizations.
