Field-of-Interest Grants Available Quarterly

Generous community-minded donors establish broad "field-of-interest" endowments to support favorite causes. These donors leave it up to Cumberland Community Foundation to support the best opportunities and greatest needs of the community as they change over the years.  

Grants are available quarterly to 501(c)3 public charities with the principal office in Cumberland County, NC or qualified units of government in Cumberland County, NC (such as Parks & Rec). Applicants must be in good standing with the Secretary of State of NC, the IRS, and Cumberland Community Foundation. 

CCF hosts Grantseeker Information Meetings to address any questions.  Attendance is recommended.  CLICK HERE to register.   

 

Schedule of Opportunities

January 2026: Deadline to apply is January 31st

  • Environment – programs that support environmental education and outreach
  • Historical Preservation – programs that support historic preservation and education about historic properties, primarily in Fayetteville, NC
  • Global Awareness – programs that prepare youth for the challenges and opportunities provided by global interconnectedness so that they can be competitive in this global economy.
  • Healthcare - Mental Health – programs that increase access to quality mental health care.

 Available by invitation

  • Innovative Program for Community Advancement – programs that take an innovative approach to address community-wide issues

April 2026: Application available April 1st. 

  • Human Services (broad purpose) – programs that improve the quality of life of those in greatest need
  • Quality of Life – any type of program that improves the quality of life of lower income families, ranging from access to the arts to basic human needs
