GivingTuesday

CCF's GivingTuesday Campaign

Started in 2012, GivingTuesday is a global day of generosity that takes place on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving each year. This year, it will take place on December 1st. Nonprofits of all sizes can leverage the momentum created by this National Day of Giving to engage their existing supporters and find new ones.
 

Once again in 2026, Cumberland Community Foundation will be participating in GivingTuesday to motivate our community to "give local" and build general operating support for nonprofit organizations that are based in Cumberland County, NC. This year, the campaign will be open to receive donations from November 23rd (starting at 9 am) until December 1st (ending at 11:59 pm). 

Eligibility and Guidelines

Participation in this event is by invitation only. 

In order to receive an invitation to participate each year, organizations must meet the following criteria: 

  • Qualify as tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) or (a)(2). 
  • Be located and provide services in Cumberland County, North Carolina.
  • Have a governing or advisory board based in Cumberland County, North Carolina. 
  • Have a current Charitable Solicitation License (or exemption) on file with the North Carolina Secretary of State. 
  • Been a recipient of a grant from a fund at CCF in the last five years (including donor advised funds).

Participants must meet all submission and participation requirements throughout the campaign in order to receive an invitation to apply for the next calendar year's campaign. 

GivingTuesday 2026 Timeline

June 24 – July 15 

Eligible charitable organizations will receive via email the link and access code to apply for GivingTuesday 2026.

September 10

GivingTuesday 2026 participant kickoff event at Cape Fear Botanical Garden.

October 6 – October 13

Mandatory training sessions will be hosted at CCF.

October 20 and 22

GivingTuesday Fundraising Training (optional). Registration required.

November 23, 9:00 am

GivingTuesday campaign will open for donations through December 1.

December 1

GivingTuesday – National Day of Giving

December 1, 11:59 pm

GivingTuesday campaign will close for donations.
